Product Engineer

As a Product Engineer within the Slurry Handling business line, you will support business growth by progressively taking ownership of quality-related activities, supplier evaluations, and technical product data management. This hybrid position is based in our Porto office and requires regular interaction with production and manufacturing teams to ensure that technical requirements are effectively and consistently translated into practice.
As main responsibilities you will:
Support quality activities within the Slurry Handling product portfolio, with progressively increasing responsibility as experience grows;
Support new product development activities through close collaboration with the engineering team;
Receive, inspect, and validate products and components against defined quality criteria;
Contribute to the definition and implementation of clear and practical quality control metrics;
Work closely with internal production and operations teams to ensure quality requirements are correctly and consistently applied;
Support supplier quality topics, including evaluations and improvement actions, in coordination with the Business Line team;
Maintain and update product-related technical and commercial data in the ERP system (NetSuite);
Be willing and available to travel internationally on an occasional basis to visit third-party suppliers.
We are looking for a person with:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field;
A basic academic background in Materials Science, preferably with exposure to metallic alloys;
Some knowledge of manufacturing processes; exposure to foundry and/or casting processes is a plus;
The ability to read and understand technical drawings; basic CAD skills are an advantage;
Up to 2 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or quality-related environment (including internships or thesis work);
Experience or familiarity with centrifugal pumps, heavy equipment, or process industries, which is considered a plus;
Fluency in written and spoken English; additional languages such as Spanish or French are a plus;
A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks;
An analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
